I did some research on custom rifles, and it looks like I can build one only wait for the barrel for 2 years or what. My quistion is what action would you guys suggest for a br/hunting rifle? I was looking at a modified k98 or a remington or a Southe african single shot or Ruger single shot.
The South African action was used on the millatery 308w Bizly rifle. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musgrave_Rifles#The_Musgrave_RSA_Target_Rifle
It is a redely available action and it is made in South Africa.

Depending on what you plan on building up, The remington form factor is the way to go it has the most part available and is very common (state side). There are alot of custom actions available based on the fit. That said im not sure whats available to you over there, or what your buget is for such a build. With a remington you will need a gunsmith to properly fit the barrel. I'd stay away from the ruger for a Bench rest rifle. The k98 can work (you need ALOT of time, work and money to get this rifle to be competitive). I have no real knowlege of the south africa brand.
